Alice in Wonderland 2010

Its a very rare occasion that I ever get time away from my ridiculously busy life involving production, photography and paranormal research.  But over the weekend I was able to spend a little quality time with my girlfriend Mikka.  Our choice of entertainment, Parnera Bread for some soup and then off to see Disney’s new Alice in Wonderland as directed by Tim Burton and starting Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska as Alice.

The french onion soup in a sour dough bread bowl at Panera Bread was excellent!  But I must say the movie was so much better!  We took a short drive to The Market Square Cinima in Dekalb IL to learn that showings for this long anticipated film were selling out very quickly… So we were left with the option to see it in 2D or wait an extra two and a half hours and see it in 3D… We were anxious and waited in line forever as it was, so we selected the 2D showing.  If I had to make the same decision again, I surely would have waited tho!  This film was amazing in regards to the quality of the graphics, characters, animation and special effects.  This one is a true jewel to the Disney volt.  I do have to say that the small changes to the storyline from past versions and original writings by Lewis Carroll didn’t do much to help the film nor harm it.  I was very pleased to see it.  It is the first time that I have ever consider seeing a movie the 2nd time in theaters just for the sake of seeing it in 3D, but the graphics are just that outstanding.  Bravo!  On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this film a 9. ~ W

  1. Keith, Miss Meaghan, Amber, and I saw it in the 3D Imax. I must say I was rather disappointed with it. True, the graphics were good, but the story was all pulled out of nowhere, it did not follow true to the books or the original Disney version at all. A story that started as a fantasy / philosophical thing became an action / adventure / drama. But I guess if that’s what you had expected, it was pretty awesome.
